To have stood outside in line in -15C weather for four hours to partake in the retail madness known as the lululemon warehouse sale.
Click here to see my booty.
I was admiring this beautiful necklace and posted a comment.
A couple hours later, this arrived in my inbox:
Name: Aliza
Email Address: chaoscalledcreation@x.com

Comments:Hi there! I'm the maker of the necklace on Cute Overload, and since you said that you'd like to buy it, I just thought I'd give you the link: http://lizadcreations.etsy.com
Hope this hasn't been a bother!
Aliza
Bother? hell no! the necklace has been purchased. And Aliza happens to live in the GTA!
I've seen the cute ads for RedEnvelope in magazines, but never bothered to take a look until last night. What beautiful stuff! Too bad they only ship to the US. If you're going to have a web-based business, you better damn well realize that people in countries other than the US use the intarweb to buy stuff as well. Faugh!
The more I look at these shoes, the more I want to buy them. Help.
All this for under $30! Also 2 frilly skirts from Ye Olde Navy.
Any one a shoe whore? huh? huh?

update: Oh holy shit on a stick, there was a lululemon warehouse sale today.
I thought Dupont was the prettiest station as a kid. Now I don't really have a favourite. Remember when transfers used to be on newsprint with the different coloured stripes down the middle? One summer mom and I rode whole subway line and picked up transfers from every station. What's your favourite TTC memory?
• black cardigan with ribbon tie front and faux-fur collar, $10
• purple/brown flowery dress, $36, regular price $145.
• long brown velvet skirt, $39 (75% off)
• black ribbed tie shoulder sweater, $18
• 2 pairs of super dangly chandelier earrings
Sephora is opening at the Eaton Centre tomorrow.
Now if only Victoria's Secret and Hot Topic would get their asses up here as well! Then I could die a happy woman.
Wow, I can't believe I've never blogged about my shopping adventures on Orfus Road before. It's a street near Yorkdale that's all outlet stores and assorted cheap junk. I last went 2 years ago on the traditional official 1st day of Christmas shopping - Thanksgiving Sunday - and every store was a mosh pit. To those who don't enjoy moshing your way towards cheap cool clothing as much as I do - the deals are still on Thankgiving Monday, minus the crowds.
Here's my haul. In addition to that, I also got a new wool/cashmere winter coat from Fairweather for $129.
These are the greatest panties ever.
I want a new cell phone to replace my totally ghetto Nokia 5165.
What phone do you have? What would you suggest?
retail therapy helps a bit. Just a bit, mind you.
• silk velvet shirt, marked 80% off from $195 at ICE.
• blood red pedicure.
• DuWop Lip Venom.
• L'Occitane Lavender Face Exfoliating Mask.
I got these shoes. These shorts...and these shorts as well. This top in blue...this classic in white, and one more top that I couldn't find online.
I :hearts $300 Nike store credit.

I am not going to tell you how much it cost. Let's just say, "Way too much."
update: Because everyone is asking where I got it...in a little shop on Queen St. West. (Meredi will remember - the shop that had the cat purse)

Dear sweet jeebus, I want this shirt.
So I tried on this suit at Ye Olde Navy. It looked good, was in the right price range, and I thought I could wear the top with shorts.
Then, "I didn't kick my ass at the gym and lose weight to wear a fucking tankini!"
I bought this suit instead, from Garage. (the flower on the bottom is actually on the back)
really blew the bank today...
• pants from lululemon athletica, $97. :covereyes I've been lusting for a pair for awhile. My 2 pairs of Gilda Marx pants have holes all over them, I've worn them every week without fail for 4 years. I also remember reading in someone's blog that while wearing her lululemon pants, she'd often get asked if she lost 10 pounds. I think a regular compliment is worth about $10 of the clothing price, being asked if I lost weight would amortize the cost of these pants pretty quickly! At least I didn't spend $800 in the store like the chick carrying a Prada purse in line ahead of me did.
Bonus: they do hemming. This was so great because they only had a size S in plain black in tall...so they're being shortened to Zorbie size (midget) now.
• Music for Young Mozarts. I borrowed Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear from work and bought the lesson book. My 5 year old student should have a blast tomorrow!
• 16oz Nalgene bottle, $7.98
• Nike weight lifting gloves ($19.99/pair so I'll be super-careful about not losing them at the gym)
• Sexy bitch boots, ($35, I think I'm going to wear short skirts this whole week, heh!)
I'm inspired by other lists of Christmas bounty:
RCA Lyra
$150 of Petro-Can gift cards
room spray
scarf with music-y patterns
change purse
$25 Bay gift certificate
incense and burner
many boxes of chocolate :puke
floppy drive (I kid you not)
Bodum french press
Starbucks coffee (Christmas blend, Mocha java)
ugly chip and dip set from work
update: Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White and Body Shop Satsuma shower gel & lotion just came in the mail from Babs.
Boxing Day booty:
gray silk skirt from American Eagle ($17)
red cummerbund shirt from Costa Blanca ($25)
fancy hairband from Aldo ($12)
polar bear shirt from Ye Olde Navy ($12)
Calvin Klein bra and undies from the Bay ($14 after use of gift certificate)
Nike Dri-Fit top from Nike Toronto ($39)
Now I'm off to sleep, got up at 6am to be at the mall right when the stores opened at 8am.
I broke down and bought one of those super-trendy Italian charm bracelets today and 3 charms. I've got a crystal P, my birthstone, and a polar bear. Now I'm only beginning to discover the array of charms that are available. Like this Leafs logo. And a grand piano. And for the truly ridiculous (but totally appropriate considering how much money I'm forking over to them lately), a Starbucks charm.
I finally got a new bathing suit, after agonizing all summer. The only nice ones at a decent price I saw were at Bikini Village. Unfortunately, this uber-bitch who once called me fat works there, and I was determined not to give her any commission. So I went in there again, tried on half the store, rejected everything, left a mess in the changeroom and really couldn't bring myself to buy anything from BV. Desperate, I head to Boathouse, where they have lovely but very very expensive suits. Fortunately, there are things called end of season sales. And this baby, although not at all what I had in mind originally, is quite suitable.
Damage: $59, tax included. I got an extra 15% off because the sizes were mixed - the top is M and the bottoms are L. I would have preferred vice versa, and obviously someone else agreed with me.
- the poor, broken old dresser
- the much bigger and spiffier new dresser
- I don't think the drawers will stay this tidy for very long
- pretty new sweater, because I have so much extra dresser space now :grin
- how extravagant looking!
No, not :boobies, a dresser, wardrobe, whatever you call it - I need a new one. The drawers of my current one get stuck open all the time, and it caused some massive destruction a few months ago when a snowglobe fell off the top and shattered into a bazillion pieces when I was shaking the drawer a bit, struggling to close the damn drawer. Now I've developed a phobia of snowglobes as well. See? I need a new dresser.
So it's off to Ikea today for furniture and köttbullar. :sweden
Have I ever mentioned how cute it is when Göran calls me min sexiga lilla köttbulle? (trans: my sexy little meatball) :love
In case you didn't know, "Gung hay fat choy!" is a salutation for Chinese New Year, which is today.
The best thing was that I finally bought a beautiful Chinese-style shirt for only $38 Canadian! (~$25 US) Originally, I wanted something in this colour, but you can see that the shirt I decided on suits quite well too. :pleased
I got a new purple friend. He's waterproof!
obviously, this is not suitable for work.
[there are no kids or parents or jealous spouses or bosses lurking nearby]
I'm back with a new Athlon XP 1800+ processor! :drool I'm gonna go to bed and masturbate thinking about all that processing power! :laugh TMI? Never!!!
Unlike Bea and Babs, Amanda and I were brave enough to face the crowds.
The haul:
black suede pants - $19.99 INCLUDING TAX!!!!
12ga SS circular barbells - $26 for a pair (50% off)
Adidas Clima-cool running shoes - $59
soft and fluffy cords from Le Chateau - $39 - not all that cheap but they are SOOOOOO nice!
All prices in Canadian dollars.
Not surprisingly, I got this. And my new-but-still-in-pieces computer is a gift to myself. Tomorrow Amanda and I will hit the Eaton Centre mall/mosh pit bright and early.
Other than that...it was just another day.
My dad is watching Conspiracy Theory, and they are claiming the lunar landing was a hoax. It reminds me of Unsolved Mysteries. :fear
..and I went to Shopper's Drug Mart and bought some anti-frizz serum, hot oil treatment, and deep conditioner. My previous experience with hot oil was rather embarrassing.
Directions: Place unopened tube into a cup of hot water for one minute to heat.
I did that all right, squeezed the oil INTO the water and proceeded to dump the whole mess on my head.
I'll be seriously busy this week. Expect limited blog updates.
