Feeling old

I was reminiscing about my OAC year in high school, and the whole class looked at me quizzically and asked, "what's that?"

they didn't know what it was??? it hasn't been THAT long since OAC stopped.

i was talking to a grade 11 student the other weekend, and she was all "yeah, Im taking AP math, AP biology, AP english" and I just looked at her blankly. It took a few moments for me to realize that this meant "advanced placement" and was basically university-track courses. i felt soooooo old.

If someone had said AP to me, I would have assumed they were at school in the US.
