Less hot, more cold

After yesterday's post about the weather, I was highly amused to read about the terrible weather in Tampa, where the temperature is a bone-chilling 32˚F (0˚C)

People have been telling me that they wouldn't want to live in a place where they have to deal with -20˚C weather, but get this: Canadians derive part of their sense of national identity by complaining about the weather. The local news reports of 50 car pileups in the US in 2 millimetres of snow and we laugh.

:canada

In the TMI category, I have managed to strain my forearm muscle wanking. And aggravated it at the gym yesterday doing punching. It's appropriate, I suppose, since at this class there were 3 stations, doing jabs, uppercuts and hooks. The instructor came over to make sure the group doing hooks was doing them correctly. "OK, you hookers!"

:laugh

But Florida is a really shitty place to be in the summer. I was there for a couple of weeks in the summer of 2000, it was like 120 degrees every day. :faint

I've lived in the North -- during the Blizzard of '96, and a winter that saw over 72" of snow between October and March. And I'm tellin' ya', it's colder down here. Your not used to it. Your blood is thin. And we don't have the clothing for it either. So make fun all you want. I'll make fun of you when you're bitching orange juice is $12 a gallon because all the fruit got frostbite! :laugh

Ha ha ha! Robyn's comment really made me laugh. Oranges with frostbite... Anyway, 0C in Tampa??? Since when it gets so cold over there? Freaky! :grin

I love stories where people go nuts for 0C. hehe the cold usualy makes for firm, perky :boobies - don' t they like that on the beach??
