Weekly Wrap-Up - Holiday Music

Weekly Wrap-up:

1. Do you like holiday music? Why or why not?
Yes, except when they play it in the mall in late October/early November in a pathetic attempt to get the shoppers into the mood.

2. What's your favorite holiday song? Do you prefer a specific artist's rendition of that song? Why?
Do You Hear What I Hear? is my fave. I like the original choral version and Whitney Houston's version. O Holy Night with the soloist and the choir coming in at the chorus. The original band/orchestral arrangement of Sleigh Ride is a new favourite. I guess the theme is that I don't like trendy new arrangements (fuckups) of Christmas songs.

3. What holiday song(s) do you despise hearing on the radio or over store intercoms while holiday shopping? Why?
It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year and Holly Jolly Christmas I don't know why, I just hate those songs.

4. From what musical artist or group would you like to see a holiday album? Why?
Slipknot!!! :laugh with Joey as the Little Drummer Boy!

5. Create a list of 10-12 holiday songs for your ideal, customized holiday mix CD.
The songs I listed above, plus some stuff from South Park Christmas, and this cheesy 70's Christmas album that we play every year for as long as I can remember, when our record player started going wonky we had it burned onto CD, YaY!!
